We rounded up local parks with free Wi-Fi so you can make the most of good weather while you work or study.

After sharing great spots to work outside, we’re following up with this list of eight parks with wireless internet access.

  1. Colonial Lake: Bring a blanket and sit out by this tidal pond while you get some work done in the sunshine. You’ll probably spot cute dogs walking around the lake.
  2. Marion Square: This 10-acre park is home to festivals, a weekly farmers market, historic monuments, picnic tables, and plenty of green space.
  3. White Point Garden: On your study break, enjoy views of Fort Sumter, live oak trees, the gazebo, Civil War cannons, monuments, and statues.
  4. Corrine Jones Park: Hang out in the heart of Wagener Terrace while you answer emails. The park has picnic tables, benches, a tennis court, and a playground.
  5. Hampton Park: This 60-acre spot is one of the citys largest parks and is home to floral displays, picnic tables, baseball fields, and a lagoon.
  6. Mitchell Playground: This spot located in front of Mitchell Elementary School has a full basketball court, playground, and ball field — plus lots of open space.
  7. Joe Riley Waterfront Park: Drink in views of the Charleston Harbor from park benches while you work + listen to the bubbling Pineapple Fountain.
  8. Theodora Park: This park is a great place to work on your task list, read a book, and watch passersby near the Gaillard Center.

An initiative to bring Wi-Fi to public gathering spaces including these parks was led by the Charleston Digital Corridor + funded by Google.

Heads up: This is not a comprehensive list, and Wi-Fi status may change. Is there another local park you’ve visited with Wi-Fi? Let us know.

Enjoy your time outside, Charlestonians.
