Another former naval storehouse is being revived as Building 64, a new arts and events venue at North Charleston’s Navy Yard Charleston, set to open this fall. The project is led by entertainment and events company Big Hair Productions.

Building 64 will feature approximately 38,000-sqft of event space, serving as a platform for emerging artists, immersive experiences, and cultural events.

Several events are already lined up:

  • Nightmare at the Navy | Thursday, Oct. 17
An interactive Halloween experience where attendees can explore a haunted warehouse and engage in a laser tag battle with aliens.
  • Kulture Klash | Saturday, Nov. 16
A annual festival will return to the Navy Yard celebrating diverse visual art, music, dance, and interactive installations, bringing together a variety of artists and performers.

You can read a brief snapshot of the history of the old Navy Yard and learn more about other historic storehouses that have been redeveloped.
