There’s so much to do in the Holy City — see what we’ve experienced.

It’s the end of the month, and we’ve hit the ground running exploring Charleston. Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to and how you can experience it yourself.

Workshop at The Paper Canopy

New year, new intentions. City Editor Erika here. I took a class at this downtown stationery shop that combined guided meditation with creative expression. We focused on the emotions we wanted to embody in the new year while crafting a meaningful piece of art. Check out their workshops — they’re a great way to get your creativity flowing.

New exhibit at IAAM

We met some of the staff at the International African American Museum (IAAM) while exploring its newest exhibition, “Unsettled Things: Art from an African American South.” Featuring 44 works by 28 artists, this exhibit is on display now through Sunday, May 4.

SEWE Media Luncheon

We spent an afternoon with the SEWE team and fellow media professionals to gear up for this year’s Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. ICYMI, we’ve put together a guide packed with everything you need to know for one of the biggest weekends in the Holy City.

JINYA Ramen Bar

A cold, cloudy day called for ramen, so we checked out this new Morrison Drive spot. JINYA Ramen Bar offers a fresh take on the ramen experience, and we tried the JINYA Chicken Ramen, Yuzu Shio Delight, Pork Gyoza, and the J.Girl mocktail. For dessert, we had the Green Tea and Chocolate Mochi ice cream. The restaurant is open daily— give it a try.

Back Barn

We had the chance to attend the celebration party for Back Barn, the newest event venue at Bedaw Farms in Awendaw. See a snippet of the party.

Author event

Callie attended an intimate author talk with Emma Grey, author of “Pictures of You,” at Sweeter Than Fiction, a charming new bookstore in downtown Charleston. Stay tuned for a peek at the experience + more exciting events happening there.

Lillian’s Petite Market & Eatery

We were excited to check out Lillian’s, a new neighborhood-focused market and restaurant inside the former Harold’s Cabin space. The spot is open daily, so stop by and see what’s cooking.
