Oh, prom— the adolescent’s rite of passage filled with sweaty-palmed corsage pins + countless Kodak moments— is right around the corner. Every girl deserves to have a staircase reveal à la Laney Boggs in “She’s All That.Sadly, life isn’t a ‘90s movie + most students aren’t budgeted for a jaw-dropping ensemble.

By donating to The Cinderella Project, you can aid a local girl in finding the dress of her dreams.

Helping S.C. girls sayyes to the dress” for 17 years, The Cinderella Project team has provided gently used + new prom dresses, shoes, + accessories to hundreds of high school girls all over the state. Boutiques have up to 2,000+ dress options. #fairygodmothergoals

How do the students shop for the dresses?
Each S.C. town or city has a designated “boutique” location in which students can shop for their for their entire prom look, down to the jewelry + heels. All items are available at no charge to high school students, but make sure you bring your student ID with you so you can get the real princess treatment. Limit is one dress per student, but don’t worry; you don’t have to be back by midnight. 🕰️🎃

Know a high school student in need of a dress for the big night?
John Wesley United Methodist Church in West Ashley will host a boutique on March 17, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

When I was in high school, prom couture consisted of butterfly clips, glitter, + the ever-alluring crop top/ long skirt combination (which I rocked on several occasions). The real rebels paired Converse or Doc Martens with their gowns. 🤘

I may just see what frocks I have in storage + donate to this worthy cause. Maybe I’ll even throw in my one + only bridesmaid’s dress… because, let’s be honest, am I ever going to slip on that $400 cobalt blue spaghetti-strap number again? 👗
