Good morning, Charleston. While we may not know what’s on your agenda for the day, we’re here to let you in on a little secret: today is National Tequila Day. Yes, you heard that right. National Tequila Day on a Friday. The stars have aligned, friends.

Now that you know this important piece of information, we’re here to give you a little roadmap to properly celebrate this national holiday with the best margaritas + deals in town. You know what they say – life isn’t always tacos + tequila, but it should be. And today, there’s probably a margarita somewhere out there thinking about you, too.

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina (817 St Andrews Blvd + 2205 Middle St., Sullivans Island + 1109 Park W. Blvd., Mt. Pleasant)

Today focuses on Patrón margarita specials with $2 off Silver, Reposado + Anejo. Between 4 p.m. + 6 p.m., special guests The Cocktail Bandits will also be making an appearance at the downtown location, where one of their cocktail recipes will be featured.

Cantina 76 (819 Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant + 219 Farm Lake View Rd., Kiawah Island)

If you’re not looking to stick to the status quo, look no further than Cantina’s infamous Strawberry Basil margarita. Sweet, refreshing, with a kick to it? I don’t see how you could go wrong. Head to Cantina solo or join some friends to try this margarita or one of their others, which can be served by the glass or the pitcher. Now, let’s talk deals.

○ Mount Pleasant: $5 house margaritas all day
If I didn’t sell you on the Strawberry Basil margarita, here’s my chance to really win you over. I’m looking at you, spicy lovers. The Kiawah location will be offering 2 new margaritas: Mango Habanero margarita: (fresh mangoes, habaneros, Milagro reposado tequila + mango purée) + Watermelon Jalapeño margarita (made with fresh watermelon, jalapeños, silver tequila, lime juice + a salt and pepper rim).

Mesu will be offering $10 Patrón margaritas from 4-10 p.m..

You’ll definitely be able to get the most bang for your buck with these deals that Jalisco will be offering all day:

El Jefe (468 King St.)

Voted Charleston’s Best Margarita, this is a stop you won’t want to miss. El Jefe has the total package deal when it comes to today’s celebration, with $5 margaritas, tequila, tacos + elotes. It’s a good thing this location is in walking distance from everything, because you’ll probably need to be carried out of the restaurant after loading up on this affordable + delicious combo.
