Let’s go ‘Rays. The 2024-2025 season is officially underway, as the South Carolina Stingrays opened things up with a preseason road win over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
Did you know? The Stingrays are an ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears. This year, the team is under new leadership; Jared Nightingale is the new head coach and director of hockey operations. Fun fact: Nightingale is just the 12th head coach in franchise history.
Opening Night at the North Charleston Coliseum is just over a week away on Saturday, Oct. 19 — and the excitement is real.

Meet the coach
Coach Nightingale played college hockey for Michigan State University + 13 seasons of professional hockey. He’s coached for six years and was most recently the assistant coach for the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
