The CHStoday team feels so grateful to live in a place where people choose to visit and vacation. How lucky are we to be surrounded by nature’s beauty, the best local businesses, and the most hospitable community? City Editors Erika + Callie have made it our mission to explore and discover our city’s history, amazing events, hidden gems, and activities it has to offer and share our experiences with you — so keep reading for our latest Lowcountry adventure.

Our latest find needs no introduction; while the space is still relatively new, it has quickly become one of the hottest spots in the Lowcountry. The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection sits on the southern end of Johns Island along the banks of the Kiawah River. It offers a little something for everyone, ranging from spa treatments to nature adventures.

City Editor Callie here — we ventured down to The Dunlin Aster for a massage and an afternoon of relaxation.

For me, this experience started the moment my car crossed out of the Charleston City limits onto the quaint South Carolina Sea Island roads. I navigated a shady tree-covered route to a secluded property where my stress started to melt away. Pro tip: Before you enter the coastal chic spa, take a second to hear the wind whisper in the marsh grass.

After checking in and changing into a large white robe and a pair of slippers, we were greeted with champagne and escorted to the relaxation room, where there were tea, water, and snack options. There is also a garden with ample seating, a fountain, and a sauna.

When it comes to the treatment, we enjoyed 60-minute relaxation massages, whichI highly recommend. But the offerings don’t stop there; check them out below.

Take a peek inside.

We are having the best time exploring spots in every Lowcountry neighborhood. Let us know where we should wander next. Did you read about our previous adventures? We stopped by the coziest I’On wine bar and enjoyed a classic coastal meal at Islander 71, a picturesque fish house + deck bar. Stay tuned for our next local adventure.
