City Editor Tatum here. Are you planning a move to Charleston soon? Or maybe you live here + you and your friends are looking for a new place. There are so many apartments in the area that we know it can be overwhelming trying to choose the right one.

Either way, you’re in luck. We recently learned that The Port House — the new, high-end apartment building and townhome community on Daniel Island — is welcoming applications.

It’s the newest living opportunity on the island, with top-notch amenities, cozy chic apartments + pretty views — and it might just be the perfect new place for you.

Recently, I had the opportunity to tour The Port House. Here’s what I discovered + how you can schedule a tour for yourself.

What we tried (with pricing):

I headed to the luxury apartments at 600 Robert Daniel Dr. on Daniel Island. The location is a short walk or bike ride away from all your Daniel Island favorites, and just a 10-minute drive to Mt. Pleasant, and 15 minutes to Charleston International Airport + Sullivan’s Island — very convenient for a Charlestonian.

More details:

I toured The Captain apartment and it was spacious, comfy + full of special details. There are 13 floor plans to choose from, including:

  • Studio
  • One bedroom
  • Two bedroom
  • Three bedroom, and
  • Townhome options

Whether you plan to live alone or with a pal or significant other, you can browse all the options and find the best fit for you.

Now, on to the amenities. There’s:

  • Elevator service
  • Study pods
  • Fitness Center & Yoga Studio
  • Locally-roasted coffee + cold brew on tap
  • A game room in the community

And, my personal favorite, a saltwater pool with a cabana and outdoor fireplace — which will be amazing to use once the weather warms up.

In the flats, you can enjoy gourmet kitchens with quartz countertops, walk-in closets, and modern touches including upgraded stainless steel appliances and two-tone cabinetry. The townhomes offer a sophisticated treehouse living experience, with private porch and balconies, driveways with front load garages and marshside or golf course views.

What not to miss:

  1. Be sure to take a peek at the game room, featuring a giant TV and pool table.
  2. Are you in school or do you work from home? Head upstairs and check out the study pods which offer a private room and desk to get your work done.

The lounge area by the pool is likely going to be your new favorite spot this spring.

What we’re still talking about:

The Port House has a signature scent, and it’s so cozy + delicious. I smelled like it all day after my tour and I wish I could buy a bottle of it.

We’re also still daydreaming about the lounge chairs built into the pool, so you can stay cool while you soak up some sun.
