Happy Thanksgiving, Charleston
We hope you’re spending the day at home (wherever that may be), surrounded by family + friends.
Earlier this month, we asked you on Facebook, Instagram, and in the newsletter what you’re thankful for– and we wanted to share the warmth + fuzziness with everyone.
So, what are you thankful for, CHS?
The community
“I’m thankful that I can live in a great community that looks after everyone on holidays and makes sure no one is eating alone, for example, the potluck at the bars that was done or something similar.” –Catherine B.
“I am thankful for the place that I call home that comes together during times of storms and unites for a stronger front. It sets such a good example for our children, our community and the nation.” –Diana Judy K.
“I feel privileged to be able to live in the city where my ancestors arrived over 300 years ago, to be close to the city’s charm, to be close to excellent healthcare, and to have family close by.” –Harold G.
“I’m thankful for our beaches our summers our friendly people. I’m glad to be in the Holy City and I appreciate our law enforcement and the children who play in our parks. I’m glad it’s a pet-friendly city and I love the live oaks and the dolphins.” –Jennifer D.

The city
“Thankful for window-box Wednesdays and all the gorgeous homes in Charleston!” –Gina S.
“Waterfront accessibility at any time (i.e. Waterfront Park & The Battery).”

“Whenever I walk these well-worn streets, I think of all the forefathers who walked these same streets and stood for our independence as a country so long ago. And, I am thankful for their sacrifice.” –Holly H.
“I’m so thankful for our public spaces. In particular, James Island County Park’s dog park! It’s a great place for socializing both dogs and their humans. Keep it up CHS, as we grow these spaces become even more precious.” –Julie C.

Family + friends
“I’m thankful for our family’s 20th consecutive year of renting a Pawleys Island beach house for the entire week of Thanksgiving.” –Candy J.

“Honestly... just making it through another year and those who supported me selling my products in their local store this year.” –Kristen A
“The older I get the more meaningful Thanksgiving has become for me. It is the “pause” button before the crazy hectic Christmas rush and offers our family a time to remember just how blessed we truly are to be alive in this great country and with each other. The food
“I’m thankful for the sun, sand, and water. I’m thankful for the incredibly beautiful sunrises and sunsets– regardless of where you live in Charleston. And I’m thankful for shrimp and grits!!” –Jeff A.

We’re all away from the office today, enjoying the start of an extra-long weekend and reflecting on how thankful we are that you welcome us to your inbox each day at 6 a.m.
